Allison Kelly is the Founder of Stepwise Health in Winston-Salem, NC, and a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach, Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach and a Certified Lifestyle Medicine Coach. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Microbiology. She is a member of the Institute of Coaching, American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Functional Medicine Coaching Academy Alumni Program and the Triad Coaching Connection. She is also a Health Coach Ambassador for EHOP Health’s Journey2Health program for individuals and businesses.

With nearly 18 years in the clinical research industry testing new drugs in development, she felt a call to promote a more lifestyle-based approach to health. While there is such good work in the clinical trials arena, she promotes that lifestyle wins. In her health coaching practice, she enjoys helping others build their best self through enhanced energy, meaning and purpose, nourishment, movement, relaxation and restful sleep. None of these is found in a pill, but rather, in sustainable lifestyle change.

She believes that each of us has the power to create the health we want. Through new research, we now know that our mindset can influence our physiology and that while your genes are very important, they do not have to be your destiny! Health creation (and disease avoidance) can be achieved by even slight tweaks to your mindset and your lifestyle. Her coaching philosophy is built on the foundations of evidence-based coaching research, sustainable behavior change intervention, as well as the science of brain health, gut health and positive psychology.

Allison is a Second-Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and enjoys strength training and walks with her dog, Pepper. She also loves making simple, fresh meals for her husband, Will, and children, Luke and Reese.
